Product description
This bust is a replica of a bust of emperor Tiberius. The original is part of the collection of the Archaeological Museum of Napoli. These statues were often painted to make them appear life-like.
Tiberius Claudius Nero was the second princeps of Rome, as successor of Imperator Caesar Augustus. Despite his brilliant military career before he became princeps, he would become remembered as a sombre and mistrusting ruler. This is why he was called tristissimus hominum (the saddest of all people).
This bust is made of plaster alabaster. It is provided with a bronze layer. This bust is 14 cm high.
